This will probably come as no surprise but April is my favorite month of the year because it’s my birthday month, my name (duh!), National Poetry Month (yay!), and this year it will be my debut book release month. April is also Emily Jiang’s birthday month…in fact, her birthday is the day after mine. What a coincidence huh?
Our book Summoning the Phoenix: Poems and Prose About Chinese Musical Instruments will finally be released out into the world and available for purchase starting today, April 1st, 2014. And no, this is not an April Fools’ Day joke! I’ve updated information about the book on my website and included links to where you can buy it online. To take a peek, click here. And in celebration of our debuts, Emily and I are hosting many online events throughout the month of April and 4 book parties around the San Francisco Bay Area. Come party with us! There will be food, there will be music, there will be art, and of course, there will be autographed books! I also have 3 art shows lined up…yes, April will be a fun, but really, really busy month! I’ve also created an Events tab on my website so that there is a central location for all the info on book parties and art shows. Please check back often for updates! Emily and I started sending out the invitations to the book parties via Facebook and I sincerely apologize if I’ve missed anyone. It’s always difficult to keep track of who is local or may be in town and available on which days. The last thing I want is to be spammy and bombard everyone with multiple invites and posts about book parties.
You can RSVP to the book parties on Facebook or you can fill out the form found at www.emilyjiang.com. And please feel free to invite friends and family. The more the merrier! Hope to see you there!
